SUKIPT 2018

fio.unesa.ac.id - Surabaya, SUKIPT is an international inter-tertiary education event which is held on 2-7 February 2018 at Universiti Putra Malaysia where Unesa is only represented by the sport takraw branch. From the sports takraw, we won third place (bronze medal) after defeating Thailand, represented by NTRU University in the final round to win 3rd place (bronze medal). Prior to that, in the group stage to the quarter-finals (top 8), the representatives of Unesa were unbeaten. However, in the semifinal round, the Unesa player who won the silver at POMNAS in Makassar was stopped by a representative from Thailand represented by Thaksin University. According to I Dewa Made Aryananda Wijaya Kusuma, S.Pd., M.Or. as a coach, that the defeat was inseparable from the lack of preparation from the Unesa takraw team which coincided with the 2017/2018 odd semester holiday and their very good game opponent from Thaksin University. Student athletes who represent Unesa in the takraw sport are indeed worthy of competing in the international arena where the achievements we have achieved can make Unesa's name internationally. The players from Unesa who were brought in were Dedi Setiadi Suryo Wicaksono, Dwi Dika Saputra, Jimmy Kartika Duwi Saputra, and Abdul Muin.

The hope for the follow-up of this result is preparation that must be more mature through a training program at the UKM Sepak Takraw Unesa and notification of event participation that is not sad, meaning that participation in an event must be planned and targeted as high as possible. Activities like this are very good for boosting student competence not only in academic but also non-academic terms. International level events like this should be more followed by other student activity units in order to make the Unesa institution accredited A.
